The Curiosity Cabinet
Welcome to a collection of beautiful little discoveries that made me pause, smile and look a little closer.
Some things are simply too beautiful to walk past without stopping.
This is where I keep them.

Some things are simply too beautiful to walk past without stopping.
This is where I keep them.
Some moments ask nothing of us except that we notice them.
I came across this tiny kitten gently discovering a wildflower and couldn’t stop smiling. It reminded me that wonder doesn’t always arrive in grand moments.
Sometimes it appears quietly, asking nothing more than that we pause long enough to see it. Today, it arrived on four little paws.
I arrived in Wollongong planning to spend the day working with a beautiful view. Instead, the ocean had other ideas.
What began as a quick wander became hours of searching for sea glass, exploring rock pools, breathing in the salt air and simply being present. Somewhere between the boat harbour, the little treasures hidden among the stones and the endless blue stretching beyond the lighthouses, I realised I wasn’t thinking about everything I needed to do anymore. I was simply there.
Some places don’t just give us beautiful views. They gently remind us how it feels to exhale.
Some moments arrive when we’re focused on getting somewhere else.
I was walking into an appointment when I happened to look up. Above me, these beautiful blossoms stretched across the brightest blue sky, asking nothing more than to be noticed. For a moment, everything else disappeared and I simply stood there, quietly taking it all in.
Perhaps that’s one of life’s gentlest reminders… sometimes the most beautiful discoveries aren’t the ones we search for but the ones we find when we remember to look up.
Some people find their favourite place in a quiet café, a mountain trail or a cosy chair by the fire.
For me, it’s the water.
There is something about standing on the back of a ferry, watching the wake stretch across the harbour as Sydney slowly drifts into the distance. The fresh salt air, the endless blue and the gentle rhythm of the water always seem to quiet my mind. Every ferry ride feels like a little adventure and every journey reminds me that sometimes the destination isn’t the part I love most.
Some places don’t ask us to become someone different. They simply remind us where we feel most like ourselves.
There are days when I don’t need to go anywhere extraordinary. I simply need to slow down and spend time with the quiet beauty of the natural world.
A day at the zoo became exactly that. I found myself lingering a little longer, watching sleepy capybaras soaking up the sunshine, a tiny frog tucked between smooth river stones, curious emus wandering nearby, a seal patiently waiting by the keeper’s door and the quiet grace of zebras and giraffes sharing the same space. None of them were doing anything remarkable, yet somehow that made each moment even more beautiful.
Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t excitement or adventure. It’s simply the chance to pause, observe and be reminded that there is wonder all around us if we’re willing to look a little closer.
There are some places that remind me there is no need to hurry.
The walk from Manly to Shelly Beach has become one of those places. Every bend in the path reveals another view of sparkling water, weathered rocks and an endless sky. I find myself stopping again and again, not because I’ve reached my destination but because the journey itself is simply too beautiful to rush past.
Some of life’s most beautiful moments aren’t waiting at the end of the path. They’re found in the quiet pauses we take along the way.
